This competition consists of six events over the academic year, three face-to-face events and three online events.

Bridge players born on or after 1st September 2003 (i.e. under 21 at the end of the season) are eligible to participate. Those born on or after 1st September 2010 (i.e. under 14 at the start of the season) are in the U-14 category.
Any eligible player who takes part in any Grand Prix event will be automatically entered into the Grand Prix.
To win a prize you must have played in at least three of the Grand Prix events
Events:
If possible all six events will be single-winner matchpoint pairs events. The online events will have at least 18 boards in play. The exact number will be chosen in order to have a good movement.
For each Grand Prix event, ineligible players (often adult helpers) are removed from the ranking and the remaining competitors receive Grand Prix points for their final ranking (see tables below). Both players in a partnership receive the Grand Prix point award for their position.

Prizes:
Grand Prix Points
Grand Prix prizes are awarded at the Junior Teach-In, the last event of the season.
- The Open Prize is awarded to the player with the most Grand Prix Points.
- The U-14 Prize is awarded to the player in the Under-14 category with the most Grand Prix points.
If the Open prize is won by an Under-14 player, the Under-14 prize goes to the next U-14 player.
Ties are broken by the following metrics:
- Most Grand Prix events played
- Aggregate percentage from 3 best results

Grand Prix standings and the results from Grand Prix events will be published on the Bridge 4 Schools website which will be linked from the EBED Youth page.
