In 1946 Contract Bridge Journal started. This was the mouthpiece of the EBU from its inception until 1955. In 1956 it ceased publication and British Bridge World became the mouthpiece of the EBU until it merged with Bridge Magazine in 1964. From 1966 to 1984 the magazine was produced in house and called English Bridge Quarterly. It was published four times a year. From 1984 onwards this was increased to six issues per year and was titled English Bridge.
