An exciting finish in the European Qualifier for the World Championship saw the English Open team qualify for the World Championships next year, when a huge swing on the final board, as well as a huge swing in another match, saw them pip the Hungarian team for ninth spot (Italy qualify in addition to eight other teams due to hosting the event). The English Women's team qualified too in seventh place after a 20-0 victory over France in the final match. Congratulations to both of them
