As most members will know, the EBU has been running many daily online games on BBO for the last 18 months. You may also know that for several years we have offered daily individual games on Funbridge where you play with and against robots. You may not know that we also run Daylong 12-board Games on BBO, where you play with and against BBO robots at any time in the 24-hour period, pausing and re-starting as you wish. All of these games offer EBU master points.
At the beginning of September we expanded the Funbridge daily games so there is now an additional 12-board daily robot game, scored by match-points and costing 29 Diamonds. This is accessed in the same way as the existing Funbridge games, by logging on to Funbridge and navigating to Federation Tournaments.
We also launched an exciting new collaboration with bid72, the EBU Bidding Contest at the end of August. Every week each participant receives in-app (tablet or mobile phone) 5 hands to bid with their favourite partner in accordance with their own bidding system. One week later hand records, results and rankings are emailed to all participants and placed in divisions according to how well they do, moving up and down divisions according to their results. This service is completely free for EBU members and made available by bid72, the premium app on bridge bidding.
