Easter weekend saw the return of the Easter Festival to London. The Championship Pairs was won by Thor Hoftaniska & Svein Olsen (pictured). They finished on 59.09%, ahead of second placed pair Ambrose Holmes-Mackie & Chris Dixon with 57.39%. Chris Duckworth & Brian Callaghan finished in third place with a score of 56.24%.
The Championship Pairs was part of the Championship Series for the Player of the Year competition, and victory takes Thor and Svein in to the top twenty five. The updated standings are available here.
The Swiss Teams event was won by Peter Crouch, Zia Mahmood, Simon Gillis and Erik Sælensminde, They beat the team of Anne Rosen, Ian Draper, Neil Rosen and John Atthey. Both teams finished the seven matches with a score of 102 VPs but the Crouch team narrowly won on a split tie. In third place were the Barden team (Paul Barden, Claire Robinson, Ollie Burgess and Susanna Gross) with a score of 92 VPs.
The Swiss Pairs event was won by Louise Selway & Norman Selway (picture), who finished on 108 VPs. Imogen La Chapelle & Stefano Tommasini were just behind in second on 107 VPs, and Will Roper & Kay Preddy, finished third on 104 VPs.
The Kent Improvers Pairs, played on BBO, was won by Judith Arnold & Lynne Ballinger with an overall score of 63.22. Chris Stolberg & Steve Johnson finished in second place, with Jonathan Bailey & Pauline Mussi in third.
