Team Black win Open Trial

The Open Trials for the World Bridge Games have now concluded. The trial was played as a round robin, with the top two teams competing in a 64-board final yesterday (Monday).

In the final the Black team (Andrew Black, David Gold, Thomas Paske, Andrew McIntosh, Peter Crouch & Simon Cope) faced the Leslie team (Tim Leslie, Mike Bell, Sarah Bell, Ben Norton, Stefano Tommasini & Sebastian Atisen) and started with a 62 IMP carry forward from the round robin. Despite this the Leslie team came back and were leading the match for a while, but in the end the Black team won with a score of 189 to the Leslie team's, 161.

The winning team will represent England at the World Bridge Games later this year in Buenos Aires, Argentina from 22nd Oct - 5th Nov 2024.
